How to Audition
Three steps to the stage
Auditions for Frozen Thoughts are by virtual submission only. Record your self-tape, submit it through the audition form, and we’ll invite selected performers to callbacks.
Record
Film a song cut and one of the three audition monologues (details below).
Callbacks
Selected performers will be invited to callbacks on Monday, November 30 (evening) at the Old Franklin Schoolhouse in Metuchen.
What to Prepare
Your self-tape
Song
A 16–32 bar cut from a musical theatre piece of your choosing.
Sing a cappella or with a backing track.
Monologue
Choose one of the three monologue options in the audition monologues document.
It does not need to be memorized.
Callbacks
Callbacks will consist of vocal cuts from the show, prepared dialogue and cold reads.
Vocal material will be provided in advance.

Frozen Thoughts
Frozen Thoughts is an original musical song cycle written by Ryan Kalin and directed by Aidan Colon. It examines scenes from six Shakespeare plays and the relationships found within them, highlighting unexpected similarities and binding these works in surprising ways. It is part of RECKONING, our 2026–27 season.

Ferrell Studios Community Theatre is a nonprofit community theatre based in Metuchen, NJ.
