About “CARRIE”
Carrie White has always been on the outside looking in, at school, at home, in the world. Raised by a rigidly religious mother and tormented by classmates who see her as a target, she has learned to make herself small. But something is growing inside Carrie: a power she doesn't understand and can't control, and a longing for connection she refuses to give up on.
When a cruel prank turns her one moment of acceptance into public humiliation, the consequences are devastating and unstoppable.
Based on Stephen King's landmark novel and featuring a bold, contemporary score, the 2012 MCC Theatre revival of Carrie reframes this classic horror story as something far more devastating than a scare, it's a story about what we do to girls who don't fit, and what happens when they stop trying.
