Macbeth: A Musical Adaptation reimagines Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, blending modernized language with an original score. Set in a world haunted by ghostly uncertainty, the show opens with a thrilling musical number that establishes the eerie tone and introduces the characters. Macbeth receives prophetic visions from the Witch, igniting his ambition as he rises through the ranks—encouraged and pushed by the equally determined Lady Macbeth. As suspicions grow and the body count rises, their actions spiral toward inevitable ruin. With moments of dark comedy woven into the tragedy, this adaptation captures both the gravity and absurdity of unchecked ambition. Through powerful voices and bold choices, the show re-examines how far people will go for power, security, and redemption.

Auditions (Self-Tape Only): Due Monday, August 4, 2025 at 11:59pm

Callbacks (By Invitation Only): Saturday, August 9, 2025 (12pm-3pm)
Callbacks will be held in-person at mignolo (272 Lake Ave Metuchen, NJ)

VIRTUAL SELF-TAPE AUDITIONS

Video auditions (using the same audition material below) will be due to this form by Tuesday, August 5 at 11:59pm.

WHAT TO PREPARE

Vocal Audition: Prepare a 16-32 bar cut of a musical theater piece of your choosing. You may feel free to use a track or sing acapella.

Acting Audition: Prepare this soliloquy (regardless of the role you are auditioning for).

Callbacks: Callbacks will consist of vocal cuts from the show and cold reads. Vocal material will be provided in advance.

REHEARSALS

Rehearsals take place weekday evenings and some weekend afternoons in and around Metuchen, NJ. A schedule will be created and released after casting.

TECH AND PERFORMANCES

Location: Metuchen, NJ

Tech: Mon. October 13-Thu. October 16 (6pm-10pm)

Performances: Fri. October 17 (Call: 6pm, Curtain: 8pm), Sat. October 18 (Matinee: Call: 12pm, Curtain 2pm; Evening: Call: 6pm, Curtain 8PM), Sun. October 19 (Call: 12pm, Curtain: 2pm)

Note: Ferrell Studios is a small community theater organization based in Metuchen, NJ. this is a non-equity, non-paid production. All performers must be 18 or older at the time of auditions.
